West End Ministries is hosting the High Point daylong seminar: "Reaching Out To and Serving Latinos.”
We are seeking participants among our community’s social workers, health
care providers, law enforcers, and other helping professionals.
The seminar is free, but registration is required so we’ll know how many to
prepare lunch for. The Rev. Mark Sills of Faith Action International House will
provide extensive handouts, show a video, lead discussion and provide legal and
cultural information. A graduate of Greensboro
College, Duke University
and Wesley Theological Seminary, Mark is a noted speaker on healing racism and
improving cross-cultural communication skills.
The six-hour seminar which will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude
around 4 p.m. with a break for lunch.
Last year Faith Action reached more than 220 people with this training.
On a five point evaluation scale, the cumulative average evaluation was
4.83. One participant said: "Awesome training - I learned so
much! This is the best training I've been to in a long time. the
information was very helpful and practical."
